VEED and Vidmini: two different kinds of tool

VEED is a complete online video editor. According to its help center, files you add are uploaded into your workspace: anything uploaded from the dashboard lands in the asset library, and files added inside the editor are attached to that project. Around the editor, VEED offers AI avatars, text to speech, voice cloning, automatic subtitles, video translation and dubbing, a screen recorder, a teleprompter, background removal and a brand kit.

Vidmini is deliberately smaller. Each page does one job, such as adding subtitles, compressing, trimming or resizing, and the work happens inside your browser with the WebCodecs API and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no upload wait and no copy of your footage on someone else's server.

VEED's free plan, as of September 2026

VEED's help center says you can create an account and use the free plan for as long as you like, with limits on features and export quality. Sign-up works with Google, Apple, Microsoft or an email address. On the free plan, exports are limited to 720p and each uploaded file can be up to 1 GB.

Videos exported on a free account, or without being logged in, carry a VEED watermark that moves to different parts of the frame over time and cannot be edited. A paid plan removes it, but a video exported before upgrading has to be exported again to lose the watermark.

Paid plans are called Creator (exports up to 1080p), Pro and Studio (exports up to 4K), plus Enterprise. They have no per-file upload limit, although VEED recommends keeping a project under 5 GB in total. Plans are billed per seat, monthly or annually, and prices are shown in your local currency when available (otherwise in USD) on the pricing page, which is why we do not quote a figure here.

Where VEED is the better choice

If you are making a video from scratch, VEED does far more than Vidmini: a full online editor, text and video templates, AI avatars and generated voices, translated subtitles and dubbing, screen and webcam recording. Vidmini has none of these. Our subtitles transcribe the spoken language only; they do not translate.

VEED is also built for teams. Workspaces can have several editors, a brand kit keeps fonts, colors and logos in one place, and files uploaded from the dashboard stay in the workspace's asset library, ready to reuse in any of its projects. Vidmini keeps nothing: once you close the page, the files exist only where you saved them.

Where Vidmini is the better choice

Privacy: your video never leaves your device. You can check it by loading a tool, turning off your connection and processing a file. It still works. Our Content Security Policy only lets the page talk to vidmini.com for its own code, and we use no tracking cookies.

No watermark, no account and no quota set by us. There is no 720p ceiling on exports and no 1 GB cap per file: desktop browsers handle multi-gigabyte files, while phones are limited by their free memory and storage. Tools that copy streams, such as fast trimming, keep the original quality untouched.

Subtitles run on your device too, with a Whisper speech model downloaded once from vidmini.com. You can edit the transcript, then export SRT or WebVTT or burn the captions into the video. The silence remover cuts quiet pauses by loudness, and the blur tool pixelates one fixed rectangle over a chosen time range.
