A Clideo alternative that keeps your videos on your device

Clideo and Vidmini at a glance (as of September 2026)

Clideo is a server-based service: you upload a file from your device or from Google Drive, Google Photos or Dropbox, it is processed on Clideo's infrastructure, and you download the result. Clideo says its infrastructure is based in Germany, that transfers are protected with TLS and that its team does not have access to your files.

Clideo can be used as a visitor without an account, as a free registered user, or with a paid Clideo Pro plan. According to its Help Center, free users can upload files of up to 500 MB, exports are limited to 480p and 720p, and exported videos and images carry a small Clideo watermark in the bottom-right corner. Pro removes the watermark, raises the limit to 100 GB per file and unlocks 1080p and 4K export. On its pricing page, Pro starts at US$12 per month billed monthly, or US$9 per month billed annually (US$108 a year), with 500 AI credits per month; plans with more credits cost more.

Vidmini works differently. Every tool runs in your browser, using the WebCodecs API and your device's hardware encoders where available. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, no watermark, no paid tier, and no file size limit set by us.

Where Clideo is the better choice

Clideo offers far more than Vidmini. It has a full timeline video editor, a meme maker, a slideshow maker, tools to add music, text, stickers or images to a video, and screen, camera and audio recorders. It also offers AI features such as automatic subtitles, video translation, text-to-speech and an AI agent, which use monthly credits. There is an iOS video editor app, projects can be saved in your account, and files can be imported straight from cloud storage.

Because the heavy work happens on Clideo's servers, the speed of your own computer or phone matters less. If you need a creative editor with templates, text and translations, Clideo covers more ground than Vidmini, which focuses on quick single-purpose tools.

Where Vidmini is the better choice

Privacy: your video never leaves your device. You can check it yourself: load a tool, switch off your connection and process a file. It still works. There is no upload to wait for either, which makes a real difference with large phone videos on a slow connection.

No watermark, no account and no quota set by us. There is no resolution cap and no paid version to unlock HD: the output keeps the source resolution unless a setting you choose needs a smaller one, such as a small target size in Compress Video. Desktop browsers handle files of several gigabytes because the output is streamed to the browser's private storage; on phones, free memory and storage set the practical limit.

Chaining is free: after processing, "Continue with" passes the result to another tool without selecting the file again. Some operations are lossless and near-instant because streams are copied as-is, for example a fast trim, rotating an MP4 or removing the audio.

Vidmini has limits too. Speed depends on your device, very old browsers are not supported, and HDR videos from recent iPhones may look slightly faded after re-encoding. Formats outside the common ones (such as AVI, WMV or FLV) go through a slower converter that also runs on your device and accepts files up to 1 GB.

Which Vidmini tool replaces which Clideo tool

Compress Video shrinks a file to a target size in MB or to a quality level. Trim Video cuts the start and end, losslessly in fast mode. Merge Videos joins several clips into one file. Video Converter outputs MP4, MOV or WebM. Resize Video adapts a video to TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Instagram or YouTube sizes, and Video to GIF turns a short clip into a looping GIF.

For editing that needs a timeline, text overlays or music, Clideo or a desktop editor remains the better tool.
